About Me

Wendy Hoyt, PhD
Licensed Psychologist

I received my Masters and Doctorate degrees in Counseling Psychology from Colorado State University. I have significant experience working with adults, adolescents and their families in residential, inpatient and outpatient settings, treating a variety of psychological issues. As an eating disorder specialist, I have conducted research and provided numerous presentations regarding eating disorders, self-harm, trauma, and related behaviors. In addition, I have served as Director of the Adolescent Residential Eating Disorders Program at the River Centre Clinic and Staff Psychologist at both Avalon Hills Residential Eating Disorders Program and Center for Change Eating Disorder Treatment Program.  I have been in private practice since 2008, and my practice is 95%+ treating mild to severe eating disorders.

In July 2020, due to my husband’s job change, I relocated from Utah to California. However, I maintain my private practice in the state of Utah, providing primarily telehealth, with in-person sessions through multiple return trips each year. I continue to work with Utah-based nutritionists and physicians, and collaborate closely with these providers. At this time, I have no plans to transition my practice to California. Although I am located here, I lived in Utah for 17 years and continue to maintain awareness of local situations and events in order to provide the best care to my clients. I am fortunate to continue the work I love in Utah, while also being able to have more involvement in my second passion, the sport of dressage. (Interested in what that is? Google Steffen Peters and the “Rave horse” from the 2020 Olympics; that’s the most fun example!)
